What it Takes to Rent a House from Oak Island Accommodations

The following steps must be taken when looking to rent a home through Oak Island Accommodations:

1. You must file out an application form and pay $25.00 for a credit report that we run. You may have a copy of that report if you request it. If we have to have any additional reports, such as a Criminal History from the court house you will be responsible for those cost. Some home owners require us to obtain those reports before we can rent their home.
2. Once you have been approved to rent from OIA you must pay your Security Deposit, any Pet Fee, if you are renting a pet approved house and you have a pet, pay your first months rent if your rental term begins at the 1st of the month or a pro-rated rent if your rental term begins at any other time of the month.
3. You must also have the utilities with respect to water and electricity (sewer if your home applies) in your name and proof from the proper authority that this has been done.
4. You WILL NOT be given keys to your rental property until these items have been taken care of with OIA.
5. You will be expected to make your rental payment the no later than the 5th day of the month or a late fee will be attached. If your rent is not paid by the 16th of the month eviction proceeding will be filed.
6. Security Deposits: If your monthly rental rate is less than $1,000.00 then your Security Deposit will be $1,000.00. If your monthly rent is over $1,000.00 then your Security Deposit will be equal to a months rent.
