This vacation rental welcomes up to two dogs per reservation year-round.

Stay in a renovated, charming historic property! The Candy Store House, a 1912 general store that sold candy, has a large great room with fireplace and TV featuring basic cable, eating area and open kitchen with gas range. Sleeping four is possible with the master bedroom's king bed and a separate room with a twin daybed and pop-up twin bed trundle. The master bath impresses with a clawfoot tub and shower with rainfall showerhead. There's an additional half bath, laundry area, desk and outdoor covered porch for watching the tourists go by. Relax with two TV's with basic cable, one Blu-ray player, 200 mbs wireless internet (bring your own streaming device) and a fenced-in yard. This unique home is great as a bridal suite for local weddings held at another downtown venue or a home base for couples and small families visiting Southport. Easily walk to the quaint downtown with its stores and restaurants.

Two words came to mind during our stay: quaint and quiet. Southport is the perfect place to have a relaxing vacation or lifestyle and this house fit right in. The house, like the town, is full of charm and character. This is definitely on our recurring list of vacation spots.

This house is really special. The location cannot be beaten. You can walk to everything. It looks like something from a magazine, but is very comfortable and cozy. It is very pet-friendly. The fenced- in yard made it so much easier for me to manage my dog during my stay. This will be my go-to spot in Southport.
