Ensure your next island vacation is blessed with Fairwinds and following seas by booking a stay at this stately and spacious home nestled among the dunes of Caswell Beach. Featuring expansive deck spaces both open and covered, a massive open-concept main living area and a downstairs den/game room, there’s plenty of space for your entire crew to spread out and enjoy life on island time! You can even bring Fido along, as this home will allow up to one dog per stay.

The main living space is located on the second floor. The tile-walled kitchen is equipped with a center island gas range and plenty of counterspace. In addition to desirable features like a free-standing ice maker and wine cooler, you’ll find everything you need to prepare the catch of the day or a family-favorite recipe, and enough space for everyone to eat comfortably. A sturdy square wooden dining table seats 12, and the round glass table with corner bench seating and additional chairs is the perfect spot for the younger group members to gather for more lively conversation.

The kitchen flows into the huge living area, flooded with natural light and featuring views straight across the decks to the rolling waves of the Atlantic. Spread out across two couches, a love seat and plenty of arm chairs to while away the hours in conversation, or enjoy a movie or favorite show on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV, which includes a YouTube TV account for guest access and the ability to sign into your personal accounts on other streaming platforms. For your convenience, you’ll also find a half bath located on this floor, along with two bedrooms connected by a full bathroom. All full bathrooms in this home feature a step-in shower. The first bedroom is furnished with one double bed, while the second bedroom contains two double beds. Each room features its own TV for personal entertainment.

The third floor is dedicated to sleeping spaces. The east side oceanfront bedroom is considered the primary suite, with a king size bed, flat screen TV, and seating area with chaise. The attached private bath features a shower with multiple jets for a spa-like experience. The west oceanfront bedroom was added as a second master suite in 2024 and features its own king size bed, flat screen TV, additional seating and attached private bath with luxurious tile shower. On the sound-side on this floor, you’ll find two additional bedrooms, each equipped with a queen bed and a flatscreen TV. While one of these rooms has access to an attached private bath, the other uses a full bathroom with hall access.

The final bedroom is located on the first level and is a bunk room featuring two double beds and an offset twin-over-twin bunk bed with an attached private full bath. Also on this level is the den/game room, where you’ll find plenty of fun for any rainy days you might encounter! Gather around the card table for a game of poker or have the ultimate family ping pong tournament. This room also features seating for relaxing or snacking and an additional flatscreen TV. There is a second full-sized refrigerator and microwave in the entry way beyond this room to make grabbing a drink or a quick snack a breeze, and down the hall you’ll find a final half bathroom that also contains the washer and dryer.

Of course, you’re almost guaranteed to spend as much time outside this home as you are inside! Expansive porches wrap around three sides of this home. The front porch facing the sound is partially covered and has a pergola with an outdoor dining set situated beneath. The side porch is partially shaded and features a pair of Adirondak chairs. The oceanfront covered porch offers front row seats to watch for dolphins playing in the waves beyond, and a second pergola complete with another dining set allows for intimate sunset dinners al fresco.

Your private wooden beach access beckons to the dune top deck, with built-in bench seating located at the halfway point. The multi-level platform deck with wooden baby gates has plenty of sturdy chairs and provides the perfect perch to watch older kids on the beach without worry that your dog or toddlers will make a sudden break for the waves beyond. There’s even a built-in oyster bar to make this the ultimate seaside dinner spot. On the ground level of the home, you’ll find an additional seating and BBQ area to enjoy. There’s also an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water and a dedicated changing space, allowing you to rinse off the sand in privacy and comfort as soon as you return from the beach. The driveway and enclosed two car garage provide plenty of parking for your vehicles.

The home was beautiful and the amenities were amazing. You just felt comfortable the minute you walked in. The home, unfortunately, was not very clean when we arrived and had to do quite a bit of sweeping and wiping down before we were able to really start enjoying the home.

Fairwinds is an amazing property. It met all our families expectations. We thouraly enjoyed our stay there in Sept, 2019. The decks were very generously furnished. The house was decorated very nice with plenty of seating room and eating room. We are a family of 12 and we all had ample room to spread out and do our thing. It is close to activities and shopping.

Fairwinds was as lovely, accommodating and spacious as any vacation rental I've experienced. The inside decor was beautiful, tasteful, comfortable with so much space for privacy or large numbers in one location. The decks, porches, gazebos, seating were expansive and allowed also for privacy where desired. Of course, the privacy almost always expected on Caswell was there as well. A great place to vacation.

Beautiful house, had everything one would need for a fun week at the beach. We loved the seating area at the end of walkway. Since we had small children with us, it was nice to have the gates wherever there were streps on the outdoor walkways. The kitchen was well equipped, loved the extra ice maker and wine cooler. Great house!

Every year I take my 90+ year-old mom to the beach and we invite a few girlfriends. This was our first time on Oak Island and we absolutely loved it. The house was the cleanest that we have ever rented and the amount of cooking utensils rivaled home. The beach was lovely. And the weather was good. My only criticism was all the bathroom doors were about 20 inches wide and my mother is on a walker or a wheelchair so that presented a few problems, but none that we could not work out. I would definitely recommend this house to families or families and friends
