This vacation rental welcomes up to 2 dogs per reservation year-round.

Four TVs (55 inch flat in living room with extended cable), Netflix, DVD player, ice maker, crock pot, highchair, Port-A-Crib, ceiling fans throughout. Trex decking, Laminate flooring. Large ocean side deck enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold. Centrally located on Oak Island, Heather Leigh is convenient to local activities, shops and restaurants, as well as the bridge leading to historic Southport and its numerous shops and historic points of interest. So, whether your idea of a vacation is to taking long naps in the island breeze, exploring local landmarks or teeing up for 18 holes at one of the area's playable but challenging golf courses, you will find your island home at Heather Leigh! 2019 Changes: Sunday check-in day.

Location location location! Ocean front, steps to beach with access directly outside door. The biggest and nicest outside shower I have ever seen! Loved having a hose at the top of the stairs! Enough seating for the number of occupants, surprisingly that is not the norm. The kitchen had everything we needed and even multiple crockpots! We loved it, would definitely recommend and rent again! Also, walking distance to the park.

Heather Leigh had an amazing porch with a gate so the dogs could enjoy the view of the ocean with us. We spent a lot of time out there. It was very nice. The beds were comfortable and having the extra bedroom, even though it was off of one of the other bedrooms, was nice because it gave us a space to do a few work meetings while others were moving around the house.

This quaint cottage was a wonderful place for our family to just hang out. Oceanfront with a short pathway directly to the beach, it had an awesome porch with rocking chairs and picnic table overlooking the ocean.

Oak Island is absolutely wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation! The Heather Leigh is a super cute beach house, and with the 2 adjoining bedrooms, this is a perfect house for families that have small children who they want to be close to, while also maintaining a little bit of space. The house also offers all the comforts of home and we fell in love the minute we walked in the door!

Fantastic view from deck–granted you can't see the surf break but you can definitely hear it. When the beach got crowded we retreated to the deck where we could still see the blue ocean water and hear the waves but not any of the people. Very relaxing! Excellent location, within walking distance to T-shirts one way, and pizza the other way!
