Your Island Paradise awaits you at this renovated home–completed in 2024–with a saltwater pool! Lounge around like The Lazy Pelican you are and enjoy the neighborhood feel of this home, located approximately 300 yards from the beach access with no cross streets. Walk back from the beach, rinse in the outdoor shower, take a dip in the pool and grill a southern barbeque for all your guests with tons of room for games and socializing!

Walk through the front door and you're greeted with the comfortable and homey feel of a farmhouse-style beach house! Soothing cool colors and decor make this place relaxing, so you can unwind. It has a well-equipped kitchen. Gorgeous gray granite counters and a captivating chandelier above the kitchen island with more seating steal the show. This open-concept kitchen and living room serve perfectly for those evening meals you'll cook together as you watch a movie or play board games. There is a stacked washer and dryer off to the side, so you won't worry about wet towels and sandy swimsuits.

Two bedrooms are located on each side of the house, combined with Jack-and-Jill bathrooms. No bedroom is decorated the same, and you'll admire the thought put into each one. All bedrooms besides the master have additional seating so you can bury your nose in a book before bed, but don't worry - wireless internet access is included. There is a large television mounted in the living room. Other televisions are wall-mounted in both bunk bed bedrooms. The bunk room with a standard twin-over-twin bunk bed also contains a twin trundle for extra sleeping space.

The fenced-in outdoor oasis is highlighted with an inground saltwater pool and a jetted seating area. Heating is even available upon request for those chillier evenings. Plenty of space for sunning in the loungers by the pool. Enjoy dining and socializing under the sunshade by day and carnival lights by night. There's also a spacious grassy play area for games! On the front of the house, there's a screened-in porch with comfortable seating and a cafe table to enjoy your morning coffee, listen to the ocean and smell the salt air.

This vacation rental welcomes one well-behaved and house-trained dog, weighing 35 pounds or less, per reservation year-round. For the courtesy of all our guests, our House Rules are that dog is not allowed on the furniture or beds, must be flea and tick free, is healthy and up to date on shots. Dog is not allowed in swimming pool and must be nonaggressive and friendly (as service personnel may be onsite for lawncare/pool cleaning/exterminator/etc). We know your dog is part of your family and want them to feel welcome too, but also want all guests to enjoy the clean and comfortable feeling of our house!

Guests should note that an additional pool heating fee is required for each day a guest requests pool heating. Guest must request the pool heating and pay the fee by calling the OIA office during normal business hours at least 24 hours prior to arrival. Pool heating is only available when temperatures are 55 degrees Fahrenheit and warmer.

House was beautifully decorated, comfy, and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, great beds in the 4 bedrooms, and the home was immaculately clean. Loved the pool area and used it on a daily basis. Very short walk to lovely stretch of beach! We also enjoyed that we could walk to several restaurants, ice cream, and shopping. Bonus that the house is dog friendly. We will be back to OKI and will definitely stay at Lazy Pelican on all future visits!!

First time visiting Oak Island, North Carolina, and this place was perfect. Loved this NOT touristy island !! Our family of 2 adults and 4 kids ( college/high school) could not have had a better week. Such a quick walk to the beach and having the beautiful pool as an option was perfect. Every room in this house was spotless and perfect! The kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING as we cooked in a few nights and even baked some treats ! Nice grill and so much room to dine inside or out! The fenced in backyard made it so private and the bonus outdoor shower was perfect. Our dog loved it too !! Screened in front porch was great for morning coffee! We are coming back and won’t even bother looking for a different place! Perfect location — could even walk to quite a few great bars and restaurants !
