At Oak Island Accommodations, we know we are so very fortunate that our area escaped the impacts of Hurricane Helene. Our hearts go out to all of our neighbors impacted by the storm. As no strangers to the devastation hurricanes and flooding can cause, the OIA staff were happy, like so many others locally, to lend a helping hand to our neighbors in western North Carolina as they begin the recovery process. Oak Island area residents, small businesses, churches, fire departments, police stations and other groups sprang into action immediately after the storm, gathering supplies and sending aid to those affected in the North Carolina mountains. 

Many of our homeowners also want to help. Participating properties are offering significant discounts of 15% to 20% off on short term stays to guests from western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene. As more roads in the western part of the state reopen, whether you are looking to get away while crews work to restore services to your area or could use a home away from home while repairs are made on your primary residence, Oak Island, Caswell Beach and Southport are ready to welcome you.

To qualify for a Mountains to Sea Discount you must:

  1. Use promo code MountainstoSea when making an online or phone reservation of three nights or more (the reservation must be in the name of a person whose primary residence is in an affected area of western North Carolina). Please note that a guest services agent will manually apply the applicable discount after booking online. The discount amount will not show when booking online. The length of stay cannot exceed 27 nights.
  2. Provide proof of current residence in an area of western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene within 48 hours of booking. Examples of acceptable proof of current residence include a valid driver's license or id showing your address. Proof of residence may be emailed to our guest services department or faxed to the attention of guest services at 910.278.3050. Please note that if you are in an area where internet service is still limited, call our office and our staff will work with you. You may also text us at 910.600.0618 and we will respond during our regular office hours.
  3. Wait for confirmation from the guest services department that the Mountains to Sea Discount has been applied to your reservation.
  4. After confirmation is received, submit your payment. Please note that a Mountains to Sea Discount cannot be applied after payment is received.
